Angel Falls Ribbon - Paint by Numbers Kit

One thin white ribbon of water drops down a dark violet-grey cliff, and the whole painting is built around it. This is Angel Falls in Canaima National Park, Venezuela. The water leaves the flat top of a tepui, a sheer tabletop mountain, and falls into a green gorge, where it dissolves into drifting mist.

The cool morning light pushes the palette toward blues and greens. Amber streaks run down the stone face, and bands of cloud sit across the mid-cliff. Broad emerald jungle fills the base, with tall, rounded tree crowns on both banks. In the foreground is a calm pool of deep teal, with the falls reflected in a pale stripe down the middle. The shapes are large and easy to read, and the colors blend gradually inside them. That makes it a good first mountain scene for beginners, and it still gives experienced painters something to do with the jungle greens and the misty cloud bands.

The pre-printed numbered canvas keeps the long vertical of the falls easy to follow from the top edge to the spray at the bottom. It suits anyone who loves waterfalls and wild places, and it makes a thoughtful gift for a traveler or a nature lover. Set up your brushes and start with the sky, then work down the cliff face to the water.
